IT'S EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY
The mountain is more fun when everyone plays their part. At Mont Rigaud, safety is a shared responsibility: ours, through well-maintained facilities and trained staff, and yours, by getting familiar with the rules before hitting the trails.
Every visitor is responsible for knowing and following the Code of conduct in effect. Our patrollers are here to keep everyone safe, and failing to follow the rules can result in immediate loss of access to the trails.
On the slopes and in the terrain park, a few simple rules make all the difference. Follow the mountain code of conduct for a fun and safe day for everyone.
> Consult the ASSQ Code of Conduct
The Golden Rule: Control
Keep your speed in check, and always control your direction. Make sure you can stop and avoid any person or obstacle at all times.
Yield to Anyone Downhill of You
Yield to persons downhill, and choose a course that ensures their safety.
Clear the path
Only stop if you can be seen from above, and never obstruct the trail.
At Intersections, Yield to Persons Uphill
Yield to skiers and riders uphill of you when entering a trail, or at intersections.
Help The Ski Patrol
If you’re involved in or witness an accident, remain at the scene and identify yourself to a first-aider.
No To Runaway Gear
Always use and wear the appropriate device to prevent runaway equipment.
No Drugs, No Alcohol
Do not use the lifts or trails when under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Obey the Signs
Obey all signs and warnings, and never venture off the trail or onto a closed trail.
Ski lifts are safe when used properly. Follow the posted instructions and feel free to ask our staff for help.
> Tips for Using the Lifts
Trails are marked using a universal colour-coding system. Always choose a trail suited to your level and follow the signage in place.

One well-fitting equipment, that's the key to a great day. Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended for all skiers and snowboarders, and is required in the snow park.

> ASSQ Guide to Essential Gear for Safe Skiing
Equipment allowed on the trails: alpine skis, snowboards, telemark skis, snowblades, snowscoots, and snowskates. All equipment must be equipped with a leash (or brakes for alpine skis) and metal edges.
Equipment not allowed: sleds of any kind, plastic skis and snowboards without metal edges, and any equipment that doesn't allow full control at all times.
The snowpark is a space for progression, not competition. Respect each feature's difficulty level, go down one at a time, and wear a helmet at all times.
> Snowpark safety
Alpine touring is practised on marked trails, during the resort's operating hours. Review the rules of conduct before heading out.

Mountain biking involves inherent risks. For your safety and the safety of others, please follow this code of conduct.

Ride safely, it's your responsibility.
Always ride in control and respect your limits
You must be able to stop and avoid other people or obstacles. Ride trails and features that match your skills level. It is your responsibility to be aware of the difficulty levels and to choose your route accordingly.
Wear a helmet and appropriate protective gear
Check the mechanical condition of your bike
Do not ride if you are physically incapacitated or if your ability or judgement is impaired by drugs, alcohol or fatigue
Be careful, obstacles and trail conditions change constantly
Respect signs and warnings
Stay on marked trails and never venture into closed sections. Do not make any changes to trails and do not build new trails without the permission of the trail manager.
Give priority to cyclists ahead of you
On two-way trails, yield to cyclists coming up the trail.
Clear the path
If you have to stop, do so off the trail in a visible and safe place.
Help the rescuers
If you are involved in or witness an accident, remain at the scene and identify yourself to a first-aider or bystanders.
Use lifts with caution
Speak to the ski lift attendants if you are not familiar with how it works and follow the rules posted along the way.
Our trails are marked according to industry standards. Follow the difficulty levels and posted signs: they're there to guide you, not to slow you down.
> Get familiar with the signage
The mountain bike chairlift has specific rules of use. Follow the instructions from our staff and respect the guidelines posted at the loading area.
Electric bikes cannot be loaded onto the lift with their batteries attached. The battery must be removed and carried in a backpack for the ride up. Electric bikes whose battery cannot be removed are not permitted on the chairlift.
The right gear makes the difference between a good day and a great day. Wearing a helmet is mandatory on all mountain bike trails at Mont Rigaud., without exception. Leg coverings, gloves, and safety glasses are highly recommended.
Our rental service, our boutique and our maintenance workshop and repair are on-site to equip you and keep you in the saddle.
